Smile Education are currently recruiting for several SEND Learning Support Assistants on behalf of a specialist school in Sandwell. The school, located in Oldbury caters for children and young people aged 7–19 with moderate to severe learning disabilities, as well as additional needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Global Development Delay (GDD).
The school is known for its innovative, child-centred curriculum, focusing on six key areas: My Communication, My Community, My Care and Independence, My Creativity, My Thinking, and My Wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that prioritises individual needs over a one-size-fits-all approach to learning.

We are looking for individuals who are:
  • Experienced in supporting students with additional needs, particularly in specialist settings
  • Patient, caring, and proactive in supporting learners both academically and emotionally
  • Capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexible and well-organised, with the ability to adapt to a range of student needs
  • Comfortable providing personal care, including toileting and changing, in line with individual requirements
  • Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people
  • Open to development, with the opportunity to gain a Level 2 qualification while in post
