SEN Learning Support Assistant

Smile Education are delighted to work in partnership with a number of Specialist SEN schools across Staffordshire, we are currently seeking several flexible Teaching Assistants to provide emergency absence cover a number of school sites across Staffordshire (Tamworth).

These roles are ideal for candidates seeking part time roles, newly qualified Teaching Assistants or for those wishing to build upon their SEN experience.

About the Role:
  • Flexible / short term opportunities working across a variety of classes with children aged 2 years – 11 years old
  • Supporting pupils with a wide range of needs which cannot be me within mainstream education
  • Utilising holistic practices to encourage academic and social development
  • Meet and return students to and from transport in the AM and PM
  • Working on a 1:1 / 2:1 ratio
  • Part time/Flexible opportunities
About You:
  • Must hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
  • Ability to work on a short notice (24hrs)
  • Confident in working independently in a 1:1 role
  • Experience of supporting SEN children and young people within the last 2 years
  • Be able to provide references covering the last 2 years, including interactions with children and young people
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate or willing to apply for a new one through Smile Education
