Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs to thrive in their learning? Join a forward-thinking primary school in East Birmingham as a Resource-Base SEN Teacher. You’ll be part of a dedicated, inclusive team with strong support and opportunity for professional growth.

About the Role
  • Teach in our on-site resource base, working with pupils with SEN needs (e.g. SEMH, autism, learning difficulties)
  • Plan, deliver and adapt lessons to meet individual needs and help all children make progress
  • Co-work and lead alongside SEN teaching assistants (TAs) in the classroom
  • Contribute to assessment, EHCP review, progress tracking and reports
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies and the wider school staff
  • Support transitions, inclusion strategies, and best practice in SEND pedagogy

Person Specification / Key Qualities
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience (or demonstrable interest) working with children with special educational needs
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and differentiate effectively
  • Strong behaviour management skills, patience and resilience
  • Excellent communicator — with children, parents and professionals
  • Commitment to inclusive education and continuous improvement
