One to One Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver focused 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs, adapting approaches to suit their individual learning style.
- Encourage engagement in lessons and support understanding of classroom activities.
- Promote the pupil’s emotional wellbeing and support the development of positive social skills.
- Contribute to personalised learning plans and targeted interventions.
- Use consistent, positive behaviour strategies to encourage independence.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to meet the pupil’s needs.
- A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A patient, flexible, and proactive approach.
- Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience working with children or in a similar role is advantageous, although enthusiasm and willingness to learn are equally valued.
- A competitive daily rate of £92–£112, depending on experience.
