Pay: £90 - £120 Per day (Based on experience)
Contract – Full time opportunity Monday– Friday until end of academic year.
Smile Education is proud to be supporting a lively and exciting Sixth Form and College setting that is seeking passionate support staff to join their amazing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant or experienced Martial Arts Coach to work with learners with additional needs, delivering engaging and structured support that promotes both academic progress and personal development. The role is suitable for individuals with experience supporting students with Autism and other complex needs, who are committed to making a meaningful difference in young people’s lives.
The Role
• Provide engaging, structured support tailored to students with a range of additional needs.
• Support personalised learning programmes in line with EHCPs.
• Create a safe, supportive and structured learning environment that promotes positive behaviour.
• Support students’ academic progress, independence and life skills development.
• Use differentiated and multi-sensory approaches to meet individual learning needs.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students and parents/carers.
• Contribute to reviews, meetings and multi-agency planning.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.

Requirements
• Experience working with Autism (minimum 6 months)
• SEN experience (minimum 3 months)
• Professional and caring nature, creating a safe and engaging environment
• Committed to full time – Being reliable (these young people are counting on you)
• Able to provide a minimum of 2 references covering the past two years. At least one reference should comment on your interaction with children or young people.
• Hold an enhanced DBS or willing to apply for a new one through Smile Education.
• Previous experience excelling in an alternate provision or specialist setting
