Learning Support Practitioner (SEN)

Smile Education is proudly supporting a specialist SEN school in Rowley Regis on their search for several Learning Support Practitioners to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dedicated and nurturing school environment where students are at the heart of everything they do.
About the Role:
  • Full-time, long-term positions available across Year 7, Year 8, and Sixth Form
  • Work in small classes (max. 10 students) to provide tailored learning support
  • Support students with a range of additional and complex needs
  • Confidently deliver parts of the curriculum and develop small-group or 1:1 activities
  • Play a key role in behaviour management and helping students access learning
  • Be a valued member of a collaborative and supportive staff team
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Recent experience working with students with SEND (e.g. ASD, SEMH, learning difficulties)
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a proactive, nurturing approach
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one via Smile Education)
  • Confidence in delivering curriculum content and adapting materials to meet individual needs
  • Commitment to working long-term and helping students reach their full potential
