Learning Support Assistant

You will be part of a dedicated team helping young people to build confidence, achieve learning goals, and develop key life skills in a supportive and structured environment.
Student Needs May Include:
- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Trauma-informed support
- Physical disabilities
- Personal care assistance
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support within the classroom
- Assist students during break and lunch periods
- Support students with personal care needs (training provided)
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
- Provide cover for other staff members in the unit as required
- A minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare or Education (essential)
- Previous experience working with young people with additional needs (Essential)
- A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach
- A team player with a flexible and proactive attitude
- Willingness to undertake additional training as needed
- Full induction and detailed briefing on students' individual needs
- Ongoing support from the Smile Education team
