Smile Education are recruiting on behalf of Endeavour Multi Academy Trust, we are seeking a dedicated KS1 SEND Teacher to join a inclusive school community. This role offers flexible working days – perfect for experienced educators looking for balance and impact.
The Role: KS1 SEND Teacher
Location: Burton Upon Trent
Contract: Flexible working days
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with a range of SEND needs
  • Provide a nurturing, structured environment to support emotional and academic development
  • Work closely with SENCOs, support staff, and families to implement EHCPs and learning plans
  • Use a range of strategies to manage behaviour and support social communication
  • Maintain clear records of progress and contribute to regular review meetings
  • Promote inclusion and equality across the curriculum
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly in KS1
  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills
  • Passion for supporting young learners with additional needs
