HLTA – Level 4 SEN Specialist (Alternative Provision) Location: Alternative Provision Settings across Birmingham
Pay: £105 – £135 per day (Based on experience)
Contract: Full-time opportunity, Monday–Friday until end of academic year

Level 4 HLTA with strong SEN and behaviour experience.
This role is ideal for a confident HLTA who can lead learning sessions, deliver targeted interventions and support pupils with complex behavioural and additional needs in a structured, nurturing environment.
The Role
• Deliver planned lessons to small groups and whole classes when required.
• Lead structured intervention programmes for pupils with SEN and SEMH.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, trauma-related needs and learning difficulties.
• Adapt curriculum materials to suit pupils working below age-related expectations.
• Support behaviour management using restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral leads.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans.
• Monitor, assess and report on progress and engagement.
• Promote a safe, consistent and supportive learning environment.

Requirements
• HLTA Level 4 qualification (ESSENTIAL).
• Minimum 6 months’ SEN experience.
• Previous Alternative Provision or PRU experience (highly desirable).
• Strong behaviour management and confidence leading sessions independently.
• Resilient, proactive and professional approach.
• Committed to full-time reliability and consistency.
• 2 references covering the last two years (one must reference child interaction).
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
