Smile Education is recruiting experienced HLTAs and Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistants to support specialist schools and alternative provisions across South Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced support staff who are passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential within nurturing SEN environments.

The Role

Provide classroom, small-group and 1:1 support for pupils with SEN.
Support students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
Deliver intervention sessions and tailored learning activities.
Support teachers with lesson preparation and classroom delivery.
Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Support pupils’ independence, confidence and social development.

Requirements

HLTA qualification or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Previous SEN experience essential.
Understanding of Autism and additional learning needs.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
Patient, professional and caring nature.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced SEN support staff looking for long-term opportunities within supportive South Birmingham schools.
