Smile Education is currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic HLTAs and Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistants to support SEN schools and specialist provisions across Central Birmingham.
This role is ideal for experienced SEN support staff who are passionate about inclusive education and making a positive impact on pupils with additional needs.
The Role
- Provide classroom support for pupils with a range of SEN needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions and 1:1 support sessions.
- Support pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD and communication needs.
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom preparation.
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
- Inclusive and supportive SEN environments.
- Excellent SEN support teams and leadership.
- Well-resourced classrooms and specialist facilities.
- Accessible Central Birmingham locations with strong transport links.
- Opportunities for progression into long-term roles from September.
- HLTA qualification or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Previous SEN support experience preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Professional, reliable and resilient attitude.
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Successful applicants must be able to provide a minimum of two references covering the last two years, with at least one reference commenting on their interaction and work with children.
