BSL Teaching Assistant

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils who are hearing impaired, helping them to fully access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to children with hearing impairments.
- Use British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively and assist learning.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver high-quality support.
- Help to create an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment.
- Contribute to pupils’ social and emotional development.
- Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- BSL training and experience supporting pupils with hearing impairments.
- Recent experience in a similar role within a school setting.
- A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Smile Education).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
