Behaviour Mentor / Sports Coach (SEN) SEN Behaviour Mentor – Sports Focus (Day to Day)
Location: Birmingham (Various SEN Schools & Provisions)
Pay: £100 - £135 Per day (Based on experience)
Contract – Flexible day-to-day opportunities Monday– Friday.

Smile Education is proud to be supporting a range of SEN schools and alternative provisions across Birmingham that are looking for Behaviour Mentors with a sports background.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs, using sport and physical activity to build engagement, confidence and positive behaviour.

The Role
• Support pupils with SEN and behavioural needs including ASD and SEMH.
• Use sport and physical activity to engage and motivate learners.
• Work one-to-one and in small groups to support emotional regulation.
• Promote positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support classroom learning when required.
• Work alongside teaching staff and SEN professionals.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.

Requirements
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN
• Background in sports coaching, PE or youth work preferred
• Experience with Autism, SEMH or behavioural needs desirable
• Strong behaviour management and resilience
• Positive, energetic and patient approach
• Able to provide two references covering the past two years
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
