Smile Education’s specialist SEN team are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an independent specialist school in Staffordshire supporting pupils aged 7–17 with Specific Learning Difficulties, including Dyslexia.

The school is well known for its caring, friendly, and nurturing environment—where every child is valued, and no one is left feeling lost or insignificant. They are now seeking a dedicated Art Teacher to join their team and inspire creativity in their learners.

About the Role
  • Full-time teaching position
  • Immediate start available
  • Teach and inspire students with Specific Learning Difficulties
  • Deliver engaging Art lessons that are appropriately differentiated
  • Work as part of a supportive and experienced SEN team
  • Contribute positively to pupils’ confidence, learning, and progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of supporting pupils with learning difficulties, ideally including dyslexia
  • Ability to work independently with a positive, child-centred approach
  • Experience differentiating lessons to meet a range of needs
  • A team-focused attitude and willingness to contribute to school life
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Smile Education)
  • At least two references covering the last two years, including comments on your work with children
