Smile Education are proud to be working in partnership with the Endeavour Multi Academy Trust to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child returning to school on a full-time basis from the Autumn Term.

This is a full-time, long-term position, with the potential to continue until July 2027, providing consistency and stability for both the pupil and the successful candidate.

Based in Wolverhampton, this school benefits from excellent transport links, making it easily accessible from Dudley, Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's educational journey. The successful candidate will provide consistent, individualised support to a pupil with highly complex additional needs, ensuring they can access learning in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

The role will be classroom-based, working closely alongside the class teacher while taking responsibility for the child's day-to-day support.

About the Role

  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Deliver medical care following specialist training.
Full specialist training will be provided for the successful candidate to ensure they feel confident and competent in delivering the specific medical care required. Whilst previous experience delivering medical care is desirable, it is not essential for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Recent experience supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable).
  • Experience supporting children with complex needs.
  • Previous experience delivering medical care is advantageous but not essential.
  • Confidence working independently whilst also being an effective member of a wider classroom team.
  • A patient, caring and flexible approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
Why Smile Education?
  • Full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to remain in post until July 2027.
  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • A dedicated consultant providing ongoing support.
  • Access to free CPD and specialist training.
  • Opportunity to work within the highly regarded Endeavour Multi Academy Trust.
  • The chance to make a life-changing difference to a child's education, wellbeing and independence.
