1:1 Learning support assistant

Smile Education are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a student at a further education setting in the Walsall area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to a young person's learning experience.

About the Role:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student within their chosen subjects
  • Assist the student in accessing their learning, understanding content, and completing work
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure consistent and effective support
  • Commitment of 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Initial placement running from September to October half term, with the possibility of extension

Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent relevant to education)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one through Smile Education
  • Able to attend an induction day in August
  • Recent experience working in a similar role within an education setting
  • Confident in supporting students on a one-to-one basis
  • Passionate about helping young people succeed in education
