Teacher of Business Studies – QTS - Melton Mowbray

My client secondary academy, based close to Melton Mowbray, are actively recruiting a teacher of Business Studies to join them from August in the new academic year as a maternity cover positon.

This is a full time position working in a school where teachers and staff are their most valued asset. This secondary school and sixth form has access to a wealth of support provided by a team of outstanding practitioners ensuring that teaching staff are given every opportunity to flourish and develop during their time in school.

The academy is looking for a dynamic teacher of Business Studies with a genuine passion for the subject and it's impact on the wider economy to teach their students up to GCSE as well as in their sixth form provision for A Level students.

The successful applicant will need to be up to date in terms of subject knowledge and pedagogical techniques as well as ensuring that the department functions effectively as a team. Given the subjects being taught they are also looking for a teacher who keeps abreast of the business world and maybe brings with them practical non-school based experience.

Their business studies faculty places great emphasis on high quality teaching and learning and encourages participation in the continued review of their curriculum and assessment.

The ideal candidate will have:

A bachelor’s degree in a business or economic based subject and QTS or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to present business concepts in an engaging and accessible way
Excellent classroom management and the ability to motivate and inspire students
A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them build confidence in Business Studies
