Smile Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a secondary school in the Wolverhampton area.
This is a great opportunity for a Science Teacher looking for a new challenge, whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT starting your career. The school is committed to creating a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to be curious, ask questions and develop the confidence to succeed.
Science is an important part of the curriculum, and the department aims to make lessons engaging, practical and accessible to students of all abilities. The successful candidate will be expected to bring enthusiasm to their teaching, build strong relationships with pupils and maintain high standards of behaviour and achievement.
You will join a supportive team that values collaboration and encourages teachers to develop their practice. The role would suit someone who is passionate about Science and enjoys helping young people make progress both academically and personally.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teaching Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics, with GCSE teaching experience desirable.
  • Creating an inclusive classroom where students are encouraged to participate and think critically.
  • Adapting teaching to support students with SEND and additional learning needs.
  • Assessing student work and providing clear, constructive feedback.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department.
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour, learning and achievement.
  • Building positive relationships with students and supporting their wider development.
The School Are Looking For
  • Qualified Science Teachers or Science ECTs.
  • Experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school.
  • A strong understanding of the secondary Science curriculum.
  • GCSE Science teaching experience is desirable.
  • A confident and engaging classroom presence.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for Science and helping students succeed.
  • Good classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A flexible, reliable and professional approach.
