Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in the Telford area.
The school is committed to providing an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential. The curriculum is carefully designed to ensure that all pupils, including those who are disadvantaged or have SEND, develop the knowledge, skills and cultural capital they need to succeed.
The school places a strong emphasis on developing pupils’ confidence, character and independence, while supporting their wider mental health and wellbeing. Learning is logically planned and carefully sequenced, allowing pupils to develop mastery, fluency, knowledge and skills that prepare them for future learning and life beyond school.
Alongside the core curriculum, pupils benefit from a range of carefully planned educational visits, enrichment opportunities, extra-curricular activities and careers experiences. These opportunities are designed to broaden pupils’ experiences and ensure they are well prepared for the next steps in their educational journey.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Planning and marking lessons in line with school expectations.
  • Delivering high-quality, purposeful and engaging Maths lessons.
  • Creating a positive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence and enthusiasm for Mathematics.
  • Differentiating and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional needs.
  • Working collaboratively within the Maths department to support the continued success and development of the department.
  • Teaching Maths up to GCSE level, with flexibility to teach A Level where required.
The School Are Looking For
  • Maths ECTs or fully qualified Maths Teachers.
  • Experience teaching Maths within UK secondary school classrooms.
  • Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum.
  • Experience teaching GCSE Maths and familiarity with relevant examination boards.
  • A calm, professional and engaging classroom presence.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
  • Flexibility, reliability and a genuine passion for supporting student progress.
  • The ability to inspire students and develop their confidence and understanding in Mathematics.
