Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher to work across secondary schools in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
Whether you're an experienced Maths Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this is an excellent opportunity to secure flexible daily supply, long-term placements or permanent opportunities within supportive secondary schools.
You'll have the chance to teach in a variety of school settings where high expectations, positive relationships and engaging lessons help students build confidence and achieve their potential in Mathematics.
The RoleAs a Maths Teacher, you'll deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where required. You'll create an inclusive learning environment, adapt your teaching to meet different learning needs and inspire students to develop confidence in problem-solving and mathematical thinking.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across the secondary age range.
• Teach Maths up to GCSE level, with the potential to teach A Level where required.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Adapt lessons and resources to support students with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas and best practice.
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, learning and achievement.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards Mathematics.

We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Previous experience teaching Maths within UK secondary schools.
• Strong knowledge of the secondary Maths curriculum.
• Experience teaching GCSE Maths.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach.
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed in Mathematics.
