Smile Education are currently working with a welcoming secondary school in the Telford area who are looking to appoint a dedicated Maths Teacher.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that is focused on helping every student achieve their potential. The school delivers a broad and ambitious curriculum, ensuring that all pupils, including those with SEND and disadvantaged backgrounds, are given the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed both academically and beyond the classroom.
There is a strong focus on developing well-rounded, independent and confident young people. Lessons are carefully structured to build knowledge over time, helping students develop a secure understanding of their learning while preparing them for future education, employment and adult life.
Students also benefit from a range of enrichment opportunities, educational visits, extra-curricular activities and careers experiences, creating a varied and engaging school experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and mark lessons in line with school expectations.
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Maths lessons across the secondary age range.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident in their learning.
  • Adapt teaching and learning to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department.
  • Teach Maths up to GCSE level, with the opportunity to teach A Level where required.
The School Are Looking For
  • An ECT or fully qualified Maths Teacher.
  • Previous experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a good understanding of the Maths curriculum.
  • Experience teaching Maths at GCSE level and familiarity with relevant examination boards.
  • A confident, professional and engaging approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Someone who is reliable, adaptable and passionate about supporting student progress.
  • The ability to motivate students and develop their confidence and understanding of Mathematics.
