Smile Education are currently recruiting a qualified Maths Teacher to work within a secondary school in Oldham from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Mathematics specialist to join a caring, supportive and values-led school environment with high expectations for learning, behaviour and student progress.
The school is looking for a teacher who can contribute to a safe and ambitious learning community where students are supported to achieve their personal best. Qualified Teacher Status is essential for this role. Applicants without QTS will not be considered.

Role Overview
As a Maths Teacher, you will deliver Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, supporting students in developing confidence, numeracy, problem-solving skills and a secure understanding of key mathematical concepts.
You will plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that support pupils of varying abilities, including those who require additional support or challenge.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain strong classroom routines, manage behaviour effectively and contribute positively to the Maths department and wider school community.
This is a long-term role starting in September, with interviews taking place as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teach in line with the national curriculum and support strong pupil progress.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Mathematics.
  • Create a focused, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including SEND.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing support where required.
  • Maintain strong behaviour management in line with school policies.
  • Build positive professional relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Contribute to the wider Maths department and school community.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures, professional standards and school expectations.
Requirements
  • The successful candidate must hold QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Applicants without QTS will not be considered for this role.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics within a UK secondary school is required.
  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 Mathematics is essential.
  • Candidates must demonstrate confident classroom and behaviour management.
  • The successful candidate should be professional, reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • You must be able to communicate clearly with pupils, colleagues and parents where required.
  • You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
Pay and Benefits
  • £170–£235 per day, dependent on experience, pay scale and role responsibilities.
  • Long-term role starting in September 2026.
