Smile Education are currently working with a welcoming secondary school in the Cannock area who are looking to appoint a dedicated ICT Teacher.

The school provides a broad and ambitious curriculum, ensuring that all pupils, including those with SEND and disadvantaged backgrounds, develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed both academically and beyond the classroom.
There is a strong focus on developing confident, independent and well-rounded young people. Through engaging and purposeful lessons, students are encouraged to develop their digital skills, problem-solving abilities and understanding of how technology can support their future education, employment and everyday lives.
The school also offers a range of enrichment opportunities, educational visits, extra-curricular activities and careers experiences, providing students with a varied and engaging education.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging ICT/Computing lessons in line with school expectations.
  • Teach ICT/Computing across the secondary age range, including GCSE level where required.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of SEND pupils and those requiring additional support.
  • Develop students' digital literacy, technical skills and confidence using technology.
  • Encourage students to develop their problem-solving, analytical and independent learning skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of the ICT/Computing curriculum.
The School Are Looking For
  • An ECT or fully qualified ICT/Computing Teacher.
  • Previous experience teaching ICT, Computing or Computer Science within a UK secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a good understanding of the relevant curriculum.
  • Experience teaching at GCSE level would be advantageous.
  • A confident, professional and engaging approach to teaching.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to supporting student progress.
  • The ability to motivate students and develop their confidence and understanding of ICT and Computing.
