Smile Education, Northwest is now looking for a full-time Maths Tutor for a secondary school based in Rochdale and the nearby area, including Buckley, Spotland, Bagslate the city centre and so on.

What does the role involve?
  • Preparing Maths teaching and learning materials
  • Providing guidance and advice to pupils on education and on their further education and careers
  • Providing feedback to students and parents, through consultation evenings, phone calls or written communication as appropriate
  • Contributing to department planning and self-evaluation
  • Providing professional support to other teachers and support staff
  • Attending departmental and school meetings, either during or after the school day, as requested
 


What do you need?
  • An Maths/Science-related education degree
  • Preferably a valid QTS
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the update service (If you do not hold this, we can arrange for you at a cost of £44, which is refundable once you have completed ten days in your new role.)
  • Knowledge of the UK Secondary Curriculum and the subjects
  • Able and willing to travel to the area
  • 2 education-based references
  • A passion for teaching
  • Good approach to behaviour management
  • A determined, hard-working attitude

Immediate start is available.

The school can offer you security with the role as it is a long-term position for at least 1 academic year.
