Food & Nutrition Teacher (Maternity Cover): 
Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school based in Stratford-upon-Avon, who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food & Nutrition Teacher to cover a maternity leave from approximately February / March 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher with a strong background in Food and Nutrition to make a positive impact within a supportive school community.
As a Food & Nutrition Teacher, you will deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across KS3 and GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition, in line with the national curriculum and exam board requirements. You will create a safe, inclusive, and well-organised practical learning environment, supporting students to develop both theoretical understanding and practical food skills.
You will join a collaborative and supportive department that values professional development and is committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning during the maternity cover period.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Experience teaching GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition
  • Strong subject knowledge in Food & Nutrition and confidence delivering both practical and theory lessons
  • Excellent classroom and practical room management, with a strong understanding of health and safety
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and promoting confidence, creativity, and independence in learning
