Smile Education are currently recruiting for an English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Shrewsbury area.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and purposeful English lessons.
  • Marking and assessing work in line with school expectations.
  • Differentiating and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional needs.
  • Creating a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages students to develop their confidence and communication skills.
  • Working collaboratively within the English department to support the continued success and development of the faculty.
  • Teaching English up to GCSE level, with flexibility to teach A Level where required.
  • Supporting students to make strong academic progress and achieve their full potential.
The School Are Looking For
  • English ECTs or fully qualified English Teachers.
  • Experience teaching English within UK secondary school classrooms.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum.
  • Experience teaching GCSE English and familiarity with relevant examination boards.
  • A genuine passion for English and the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • A calm, professional and confident classroom presence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Flexibility, reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting student progress.
