A thriving secondary school in Wigan is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative English Teacher to join their dynamic department and ignite a love for language and literature.
 
Location: WN3
Pay: £160 – £210 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: Immediate
 
The Role – English Teacher:
In this exciting role, you'll be delivering high-quality English lessons that equips students with essential skills and fosters academic and personal growth.
Your key duties will include:
  • Teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, delivering the English curriculum that includes classic and contemporary texts, writing skills, and language analysis.
  • Planning and delivering stimulating, student-centred lessons that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom culture where every student feels valued and empowered to achieve.
  • Working collaboratively within a forward-thinking English department, sharing ideas and resources to continuously enhance teaching practice.
  • Offering tailored guidance and encouragement to students, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
 
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds QTS, PGCE, or a comparable qualification in English or a related subject area.
  • Possesses a solid grasp of English literature and language, and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
  • Demonstrates a genuine enthusiasm for the subject and a commitment to student engagement and success.
  • Has excellent classroom management skills and a talent for building positive, respectful relationships with students.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the update service or is happy to obtain one via Smile Education.
