Economics is a high-priority subject. As the school's dedicated Economics Teacher, you will deliver thought-provoking lessons that delve into micro and macroeconomic theory, market systems, globalisation, government policy, and development economics.
Your role will be pivotal in helping students make sense of the world around them—arming them with the analytical and evaluative skills needed for academic excellence, university admissions, and real-world economic thinking.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Delivering high-quality, intellectually stimulating Economics lessons across KS4 and KS5.
- Introducing students to core concepts such as opportunity cost, elasticity, fiscal and monetary policy, market failure, and economic growth.
- Using contemporary case studies and real-world data to bring theory to life and deepen student understanding.
- Fostering an environment that encourages debate, inquiry, and independent critical thought.
- Assessing student progress, delivering constructive feedback, and supporting individual learning needs.
- Collaborating with the department to develop an ambitious, well-sequenced Economics curriculum.
What We’re Looking For:- QTS or PGCE with a specialism in Economics or a closely related discipline.
- A strong academic foundation in Economics, with the ability to explain and contextualise complex ideas clearly.
- A deep enthusiasm for the subject and a commitment to educational excellence.
- Proven experience (or training) in teaching Economics at KS4 and/or KS5 level.
- A reflective, engaging, and inclusive teaching style.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service—or willingness to apply through Smile Education.
