Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons in line with the school curriculum.
- Create engaging and practical lessons that inspire students and develop their creativity, problem-solving and technical skills.
- Assess, monitor and mark student work in line with school expectations.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students are encouraged to achieve their potential.
- Adapt teaching and learning to meet the needs of students with SEND and other additional needs.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety and engagement within the classroom and practical learning environments.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Design and Technology department.
- Teach Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 where required.
The School Are Looking For
- An ECT or fully qualified Design and Technology Teacher.
- Previous experience teaching Design and Technology within a UK secondary school.
- Strong subject knowledge and a good understanding of the DT curriculum.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at GCSE level and familiarity with relevant examination boards.
- A confident, professional and engaging classroom presence.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Someone who is reliable, adaptable and passionate about supporting student progress.
- The ability to motivate students and develop their confidence, creativity and practical skills.
