Smile Education are recruiting for a qualified Design Technology & Art Teacher to work within a secondary school in Oldham.
The school are looking for a creative and confident teacher with QTS in Design Technology, Art or a closely related practical subject. The timetable will include both DT and Art.
The Role
As a Design Technology & Art Teacher, you will deliver practical and creative lessons across KS3 and KS4.
The timetable will combine Design Technology and Art. Experience teaching Food Technology would also be highly advantageous.
You will be expected to maintain strong classroom routines, manage behaviour confidently and create a safe, engaging environment for practical learning.
Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Design Technology and Art lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Support practical and creative projects from planning through to completion.
• Maintain safe working practices within practical classrooms.
• Manage behaviour confidently and maintain clear expectations.
• Adapt teaching for pupils of varying abilities, including SEND.
• Assess pupil progress and provide feedback where required.
• Contribute positively to the wider creative and practical subjects department.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school expectations.

Requirements

• QTS is essential.
• Experience teaching Design Technology, Art or a related practical subject within a UK secondary school is required.
• You must be confident teaching practical lessons and managing classroom behaviour.
• ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
• You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
• You must have the right to work in the UK.

Pay and Benefits

• £170–£235 per day, dependent on experience and responsibilities.
• Long-term role within a secondary school in Oldham.
