Smile Education are currently recruiting for a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work across secondary schools in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to build experience within secondary education. The role could suit an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, aspiring teacher or someone with previous experience supporting children and young people.
The RoleAs a Cover Supervisor, you will support schools by supervising classes when teachers are absent. You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared work, maintaining a positive classroom environment and ensuring students remain focused and engaged with their learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons.
• Maintain a calm, positive and purposeful learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Support students with their learning and keep them focused on task.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons where required.
• Adapt to different schools, subjects and year groups.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Confidence managing a classroom and maintaining expectations.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to work across different subjects and year groups.
• A reliable, flexible and adaptable approach.
• A genuine interest in supporting young people and their education.
