Behaviour Mentor Secondary

Smile education are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school based in Telford on their search for a behaviour intervention mentor. Previous experience is desired but not essential; a sports, psychology or mental health support background can all be advantageous for the role.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children and young people either in education or youth/support work/prison/secure unit roles.
  • Confident to work on your own initiative, as well as contributing to a team
  • Confidence to manage challenging behaviour and re-engage students who are disaffected and not currently engaged in their education
  • Be willing to support students off-site where required, to try and re-engage them and encourage positive attendance records

The ideal Behaviour Mentor will be enthusiastic and show great behaviour management skills. You will be confident and not be phased by challenging behaviour in the classroom. Resilience is key for succeeding in this role. You will be expected to work between 8:30am-3:30pm.
