Smile Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join a successful and supportive secondary school in Wolverhampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to inspiring young people and helping students develop their creativity, confidence and artistic skills. The school offers a welcoming and supportive environment where mutual respect, positive behaviour and high expectations are central to school life.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Art lessons across the secondary age range. You will encourage students to explore their creativity while developing their practical skills, knowledge and appreciation of art.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering engaging Art lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to express their creativity.
  • Teaching a range of artistic techniques, processes and media.
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs and abilities of all learners.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
  • Encouraging students to develop their confidence, creativity and independent thinking.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school and working collaboratively with colleagues.
The School Are Looking For
  • A qualified teacher with QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Art within a secondary school environment.
  • A genuine passion for Art and creativity.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high expectations.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons for students of different abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, flexible and professional approach.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting students' academic, personal and creative development.
