Are you a passionate and creative Art Teacher ready to inspire the next generation of young artists?
An outstanding secondary school in Wigan is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join their dynamic team and nurture creativity, expression, and confidence in students.

Location: WN3
Pay: £150 – £230 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: September 2025

 
The Role – Art Teacher:
As an Art Teacher at this school, you will play a vital role in unlocking students' artistic potential and encouraging them to explore their creativity through a wide range of artistic mediums.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, delivering a diverse and stimulating Art curriculum covering drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art.
  • Designing engaging, hands-on lessons that challenge students to experiment, develop their artistic voice, and build confidence in their creative abilities.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students of all abilities feel encouraged and inspired to express themselves.
  • Collaborating with a supportive, forward-thinking Art department to share resources, fresh ideas, and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Providing tailored support to students, nurturing both their technical skills and passion for the arts, and preparing them for future creative pathways.
 
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), PGCE, or an equivalent qualification in Art & Design or a related field.
  • Has strong subject knowledge across various artistic disciplines, with the ability to inspire students of varying skill levels.
  • Brings creativity, energy, and a passion for visual arts, encouraging students to experiment and engage with the subject.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and builds positive relationships with students, fostering a respectful, encouraging learning environment.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the update service or is willing to obtain one through Smile Education.
