passionate and creative Art & Design Teacher to work within a secondary school in
Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher to join a supportive department and help students develop their creativity, confidence, and technical skills.
The role would suit an experienced teacher or an
ECT, and offers the chance to work in a well‑structured school environment that values creativity, professionalism, and high‑quality teaching.
Role OverviewAs an Art & Design Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across
KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to support students through
GCSE coursework and portfolio development where required.
This role is ideal for someone who can bring enthusiasm, creativity, and strong classroom practice, while working collaboratively within a committed Art department.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging Art & Design lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students with coursework, portfolio development, and exam preparation
- Promote creativity, experimentation, and confidence in students’ artistic ability
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying ability
- Maintain a positive, focused, and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress where appropriate
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure continuity of learning
- Uphold professional standards, safeguarding expectations, and school ethos
RequirementsThe successful candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Have experience teaching Art & Design within a secondary school setting
- Be confident supporting GCSE Art coursework and controlled assessments
- Demonstrate strong classroom presence and behaviour management
- Be adaptable, proactive, and well organised
- Have a genuine passion for art, creativity, and student development
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
ECTs are encouraged to apply. Pay & Benefits- £150–£225 per day, dependent on experience and pay scale
