Year 3 Teacher - Derby

Smile Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a primary school based in Derbyshire for a Year 3 class teacher to join their team from September 2025.

Role and responsibilities:
  • Planning creative, engaging lesson plans ensuring that all children’s learning needs and abilities are met.
  • Delivering effective lessons to the whole class of approximately 26 students.
  • Adapting teaching strategies to ensure that every student understands and has effective support.
  • Marking work throughout the day effectively and providing clear feedback to students and their families.
  • Completing and writing development reports and assessments.
  • Building strong, positive and professional relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • Working to support and lead a class teaching assistant to enhance children’s learning opportunities.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment with effective lesson resources available.
  • Working closely with the phase leader to ensure high quality teaching and learning.
  • Attending staff meetings and training opportunities for personal progression opportunities.
 
Ideal applicants will:
  • Have a valid, UK QTS alongside experience teaching in KS2 (preferably year 3 or 4)
  • Show a positive role model to all.
  • Hold strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Be committed to children’s learning and education and want to make a difference.
  • Hold experience using White Rose Maths and Little Wandle schemes (desirable)
