Experienced Year 1 teacher – WS10

Smile Education is currently recruiting for an experienced Year 1 teacher to join a primary school in the WS10 area.
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and experienced teacher who can provide high-quality teaching while creating a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment for young pupils.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Key Stage 1 teacher who is confident teaching Year 1 and is looking for a new opportunity within a supportive primary school.

As the Year 1 teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons while supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development. You will be expected to create a positive classroom environment where children feel supported, encouraged and motivated to learn.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons across the Year 1 curriculum
  • Supporting pupils across all areas of their learning and development
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs and abilities of individual pupils
  • Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning and progress
  • Supporting pupils' social and emotional development
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and creating a strong classroom culture
  • Working effectively with teaching assistants and other members of staff
  • Contributing to assessment and record keeping
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and parents/carers where required
  • Supporting pupils to become confident and independent learners
  • Identifying where pupils may require additional support and adapting your teaching accordingly
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging children to take pride in their learning
We are looking for an experienced primary teacher who is confident teaching Key Stage 1 and understands the needs of children in Year 1.

The ideal candidate will be:
  • Qualified to teach in the UK
  • Experienced teaching within Key Stage 1
  • Ideally experienced specifically within Year 1
  • Confident with planning, assessment and classroom management
  • Able to differentiate learning effectively
  • Creative, engaging and enthusiastic
  • Calm, organised and reliable
  • Able to build strong and positive relationships with pupils
  • Confident managing classroom behaviour
  • Able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
  • Passionate about helping children achieve their potential
  • Committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Previous experience teaching Year 1 is highly desirable, as the school is looking for someone who can confidently step into the role and make a positive contribution from the outset.
