Smile Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Tamworth (B78), we are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher for a full-time position. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school community where both experienced teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply.
 
Role: Year 1 Class Teacher
Location: Tamworth (B78)
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS – dependent on experience
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum, with a focus on phonics, reading, writing, and maths
  • Plan, assess, and track pupil progress in collaboration with your parallel class teacher
  • Create a warm, inclusive classroom where all pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Support the transition from EYFS to Year 1, understanding early learning principles and adapting your teaching accordingly
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to enhance learning outcomes
  • Effectively manage behaviour in line with the school’s positive behaviour policy
  • Work closely with SENCO and support staff to differentiate learning and meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including school events and staff development activities
 
 Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers
  • Placement experience in KS1 or Year 1 is acceptable
  • Passion for teaching young learners and delivering high-quality, creative education
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a two-form entry setting
