Are you a qualified Primary Teacher with a calm, nurturing approach and experience supporting children with additional needs?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive specialist provision in Birmingham (B8). They’re seeking a dedicated SEN Primary Teacher to join their team and make a real difference to the lives of young learners.

Position: SEN Primary Teacher
Location: Birmingham (B8)
Start Date: Immediate
Pay Rate: £150–£220 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
 
About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Primary Teacher with a background in SEN or alternative provision. You’ll teach pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties, within small, supportive classes. Your role will focus on building trust, promoting engagement, and helping each pupil reach their full potential—both academically and personally.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum, tailored to individual EHCP targets.
    • Provide focused 1:1 and small-group interventions to support progress and emotional regulation.
    • Use positive behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches to create a calm, safe learning environment.
    • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
    • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic pupil development.
    • Contribute to EHCP reviews, behaviour plans, and pastoral meetings.
    • Promote resilience, self-esteem, and independence in every learner.
 
About the Provision:
This specialist provision in Birmingham (B8) supports primary-aged pupils who may have struggled in mainstream settings. The team is committed to re-engaging learners, developing confidence, and celebrating progress at every stage. What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
    • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
    • Proven experience in SEN, PRU, or specialist settings.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
    • Reflective, patient, and creative approach to teaching.
    • Current enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
