Smile Education is currently working in partnership with a Multi-Academy Trust that operates several mainstream primary schools across the Burton upon Trent area. Due to increasing demand, we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and adaptable Primary Teachers with QTS to provide day-to-day cover across a range of year groups.
Cover requirements can arise for a variety of reasons, including staff sickness, training courses, additional funding provisions, and extra support needed to ensure the smooth running of the school day. Opportunities are available from 1 to 5 days per week, offering flexibility to suit your availability.

The RoleAs a Day-to-Day Supply Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging lessons across Nursery to Year 6
- Maintain high standards of behaviour management
- Adapt quickly to different classroom environments
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Work independently and use your initiative to ensure learning continues effectively
Essential RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – no other teaching qualification will be accepted
- Have recent experience teaching within a UK primary school setting
- Be confident covering classes from Nursery through to Year 6
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
- Be able to work independently and use your own initiative
- Be available for day-to-day supply work
- Be open to receiving morning calls for same-day cover assignments
- Be able to travel to schools across the Burton upon Trent area
- Be available to work school hours of 8:15am – 3:30pm
- Provide a minimum of two professional references covering the last two years, including comments on your interaction with children
- Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new DBS through Smile Education
