Part-Time KS1 Teacher – Tamworth
Smile Education are delighted to be working on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Tamworth, who are seeking a dedicated KS1 Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis.

We are looking for a passionate and adaptable teacher with QTS and strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum. This is a cover-based role – no planning required – where you will deliver engaging lessons across KS1 year groups.

Responsibilities: 
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across KS1 classes, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Maintain a calm, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide clear instructions and engaging teaching to support children’s learning.
  • Adapt lessons and approaches to meet the needs of pupils with different learning styles and abilities.
  • Support children with their reading, writing, and numeracy skills in line with KS1 expectations.
  • Monitor and encourage pupil progress, giving constructive feedback where appropriate.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour through positive reinforcement and clear expectations.
  • Liaise with support staff to ensure all pupils, including SEND learners, are fully included.
  • Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
  • Be flexible and confident to teach across both Year 1 and Year 2.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching KS1 learners (placement experience can be accepted)
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
  • Flexibility to work across different KS1 year groups.
  • A passion for inspiring and supporting young learners.
