Experienced Year 5 Teacher with TLR – September Start
Full-Time | MPS/UPS + TLR
Start Date: September 2025

Are you an inspiring and experienced Key Stage 2 teacher looking for a new challenge and leadership opportunity?

An exciting position has become available for a confident and dedicated Year 5 teacher to join a thriving and inclusive Birmingham primary school. This is a school where children are at the heart of every decision, and where staff are valued, supported, and encouraged to lead. The successful candidate will benefit from TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibility) pay, offering the chance to take on a key area of responsibility within the school’s development.

The school serves a diverse, vibrant community and is driven by values of inclusion, ambition, and care. Pupils are eager to learn, staff are collaborative, and leaders are committed to high standards alongside nurturing wellbeing. The curriculum is broad, creative, and responsive to the needs of the pupils and community, underpinned by high expectations for all.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced teacher who can:
  • Deliver outstanding teaching in Year 5 and raise achievement across the key stage.
  • Lead on a specific area of school improvement (to be agreed, based on experience and school priorities) as part of the TLR role.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • Assess and track pupil progress effectively to inform planning and ensure all learners make strong progress.
  • Lead by example in classroom practice, team collaboration, and school ethos.
  • Contribute positively to staff development, curriculum innovation, and enrichment opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong track record in upper Key Stage 2.
  • Previous experience of leading a subject, phase, or key school initiative (desirable).
  • Excellent classroom practice and strong knowledge of Year 5 curriculum expectations.
  • Confidence in preparing pupils for end-of-Key-Stage assessments.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a commitment to collaborative and reflective practice.
  • A child-centred approach and a belief in the potential of every pupil.
In Return, the School Offers:
  • MPS/UPS salary with additional TLR to reflect leadership responsibilities.
  • A forward-thinking, ambitious school community committed to high standards.
  • Well-behaved, motivated pupils and a supportive parent community.
  • Extensive CPD opportunities and leadership development.
  • A friendly, hardworking team of staff and senior leaders who prioritise wellbeing.
  • A real opportunity to make a difference and lead change.

We are committed to safeguarding children. Each applicant will be expected to undertake compliance checks including Prohibited list, Barred list, DBS and Qualifications.
