Key Stage 2 Teacher for a group of welcoming and inclusive primary schools based in
Burton upon Trent.
Due to a rise in demand for supply cover this term, we are offering a fantastic opportunity for consistent, longer-term work across the trust's schools. This is an excellent chance to become part of a supportive teaching network that values development and consistency for both staff and pupils.
At this welcoming mainstream primary school, the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are central to its inclusive ethos. The school, works closely with parents, children, and external professionals to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Alongside a broad education that supports academic, social, emotional, and physical development, targeted afternoon interventions—such as small group Maths and English, Time to Talk, Talk Boost, Precision Teaching, Colourful Semantics, Attention Autism, and Lego Therapy—are delivered by the dedicated SEND team. These evidence-based strategies promote confidence, independence, and progress, with a strong commitment to raising aspirations and ensuring every child receives the support they need to succeed.
The Role:- Delivering engaging, creative and purposeful KS2 lessons covering the full national curriculum
- Demonstrating strong classroom management and a confident teaching presence
- Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment meeting all children’s learning abilities
- Adapting lesson delivery to enhance all children’s learning opportunities
- Following lesson plans effectively, ensuring all plans are covered securely
- Leaving clear and effective handovers where required for the returning class teacher
- Collaborating with staff to maintain high standards across the school
What We’re Looking For:- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential, ECTs can be considered
- Proven experience in KS2 settings, secondary experience will also be considered
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Adaptability and enthusiasm to make a lasting impact
- Flexibility to work to the schools needs
- 24 months of suitable references provided on request
