Are you a passionate KS1 Primary Teacher looking for a rewarding role in a nurturing and supportive school environment?  We are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, who are seeking a full-time KS1 Teacher to join their team from September 2025 on a maternity cover basis.
 
About the Role:
This is a full-time position working in a vibrant KS1 classroom. The successful candidate will take full class teacher responsibilities, leading learning and pastoral support for pupils aged 5–7. You will be supported by a dedicated class teaching assistant and a close-working staff team.
Teaching Responsibilities Include:
  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum for KS1
  • Deliver Read Write Inc. phonics sessions effectively and consistently
  • Lead a class TA to support learning and manage classroom interventions
  • Provide engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to a range of abilities
  • Support the learning and development of pupils with SEND
  • Build strong, nurturing relationships with children and families
  • Maintain excellent classroom and behaviour management
  • Track and report on pupil progress using school systems
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and CPD opportunities
  • Always uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Recent experience teaching in a UK KS1 classroom
  • Experience supporting children with SEND and working alongside a class TA
  • Confident delivering Read Write Inc phonics
  • A nurturing, positive, and proactive approach to teaching and classroom life
  • Strong communication, organisational, and team-working skills
