Smile Education are currently recruiting for an experienced School Administrator to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Redditch, with an immediate start available.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment and making a real difference to the smooth running of a school office.
The successful applicant will be responsible for a range of general administrative duties, including signing visitors in and out in line with safeguarding procedures, updating the school CRM system, managing attendance records, responding to general enquiries and supporting the wider school office team.

The role will also involve booking cover, working closely with an education agency to arrange appropriate staffing when required. This will involve communicating with the agency professionally and efficiently, helping to ensure the school remains fully staffed and operational.

Applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have previous experience working within a school environment. Experience using SIMS, CMIS, ARBOR or BROMCOM is essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, dedicated and friendly school office team. The expected salary range for the role is £16 - £18 per hour, depending on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day attendance monitoring
  • Updating and maintaining accurate student records
  • Using SIMS/CMIS/BROMCOM/ARBOR systems effectively
  • Maintaining accurate pupil attendance records
  • Providing administrative support across the school
  • Presenting attendance and pupil data to senior leaders
  • Supporting safeguarding and visitor procedures
  • Managing and arranging booking cover when required
  • Liaising with education agencies regarding staff cover
  • Responding professionally to staff, parents, agencies and external visitors
  • Liaising effectively with external agencies and other professionals
  • Working in a highly organised, efficient and proactive manner
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have previous school administration or attendance experience
  • Be highly motivated, professional and forward-thinking
  • Have proficient IT and data management skills
  • Have experience using SIMS, CMIS, BROMCOM or ARBOR
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be confident communicating with an education agency regarding staffing and cover
  • Be able to build positive working relationships with staff, pupils and parents
  • Have a good understanding of school attendance and safeguarding procedures
  • Be able to work calmly and effectively in a busy school environment
  • Have excellent organisational and time-management skills
What to Expect from Applicants:We are looking for applicants with prior experience working within a school administration role. Experience using SIMS, CMIS, BROMCOM or ARBOR is essential.

The successful candidate will be confident working as part of a busy school office team and comfortable communicating with a range of people, including staff, parents, external agencies and education recruitment agencies.

Experience arranging or coordinating staff cover/booking cover would be highly advantageous.
