Smile Education are currently recruiting for a
school experienced IT Technician to start immediately for a school in
Birmingham.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing day-to-day IT support across the school, ensuring all systems and equipment are running efficiently. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting staff and students with technical queries, and maintaining the school’s IT infrastructure. Applicants must have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and previous experience working in a school or educational IT environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide first-line IT support to staff and students
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, tablets, and interactive whiteboards
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions
- Install, configure, and update software and operating systems
- Maintain the school’s network and internet connectivity
- Ensure IT systems comply with safeguarding and data protection policies
- Support classroom technology and AV equipment
- Maintain accurate records of IT issues and resolutions
- Be highly organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be professional, proactive, and forward thinking
What to expect from applicants? We would like applicants to have prior experience working in an IT support or technician role. Experience working within a school or education setting is highly desirable.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:- Previous experience as an IT Technician or IT Support Officer
- Experience supporting Windows-based systems and Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of networking, hardware, and software troubleshooting
- Experience working within a school or education environment
- Available to join the team until the end of the academic year
