About the Role
Smile Education is recruiting for a Food Technician to support the Design & Technology department within a secondary school in Greater Manchester. It is ideal for candidates with a background in catering, hospitality, food preparation, or school technician work who are looking to gain experience in an education setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and materials for food technology lessons
- Maintain and organise kitchen equipment and classroom resources
- Ensure food hygiene and health & safety standards are followed
- Support teachers during practical lessons with classroom setup and clean-down
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Experience in food preparation, catering, or hospitality environments
- Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety procedures
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a school environment
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
