Smile Education are recruiting for a school-experienced Behaviour Support / Pastoral Lead to start immediately for a school in Telford.

This role will be full-time, Monday – Friday, 08:00–16:00, starting as soon as possible 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support students with challenging behaviour, emotional needs, and barriers to learning
  • Monitor behaviour trends and pastoral concerns across the school
  • Identify students who require additional pastoral or behavioural support
  • Work closely with Senior Leadership Team, Heads of House, Tutors, SENCo, Inclusion team, and other relevant staff regarding students of concern
  • Meet with students and parents/carers to support positive behaviour and engagement
  • Deliver restorative approaches, mentoring, and targeted interventions to improve behaviour and wellbeing
  • Liaise with external agencies where appropriate to support students’ pastoral needs
  • Contribute to the school’s safeguarding and wellbeing provision
What to expect from applicants: We would like applicants to have prior experience in behaviour support or pastoral work within a school setting. Experience in student monitoring systems (SIMS / CMIS / BROMCOM / ARBOR) is desirable.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in supporting students with behaviour and pastoral needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in mentoring or running pastoral interventions
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to remain calm, fair, and consistent when managing challenging behaviour
