About the Role

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Solihull is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their team on a part-time basis (3 days per week) starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate SEN professional who is committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Develop, implement, and review SEN support plans and EHCP provisions.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective support for pupils.
  • Monitor and track the progress of pupils with SEND, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on SEND best practices.
  • Ensure the school meets statutory SEND requirements and maintains accurate documentation.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (SENCo qualification) – essential.
  • Previous experience working as a SENCo in a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the EHCP process.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
