Smile Education’s Leadership division are currently seeking an aspirational, primary Headteacher for a Walsall based primary school (WS3 3PQ). The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis to start from September 2020. If you have experience as a senior leader and are either local to or available to travel to the Walsall area, we would like to hear from you. Smile are a leading education recruitment agency and are working on this post in an exclusive partnership with the school.

We are currently working alongside a large, established trust to support one of their smaller primary schools in securing a new permanent leader. The role has become available due to the re-location of their current headteacher. Currently graded Ofsted ‘good’ this setting caters to children from 3-11 and is extremely proud of their strong relationships with the local community. Having met with the other senior members of the team it’s clear that collaboration is at the heart of this school. Staff here genuinely want to provide the best education to the pupils, all of whom come from the local area. Current strengths within the team lie in safeguarding, pastoral and curriculum and so the ideal candidate would be able to provide skills in addition to this. Staff within the school are open to change, challenge and guidance towards a mutual goal.

The trust is clear in their vision for the school and are seeking an individual with strong values and ethics to have a fully autonomous headship. This coupled with a well-established support network from other schools based within the trust make this an ideal opportunity for candidates seeking their first headship. Applications from both experienced and aspiring headteachers are very much welcomed as are applications from SEN or Secondary experienced senior leaders. You must display a clear passion for working with pupils from challenging backgrounds and be confident in encouraging academic rigour both within the walls or the school and with the surrounding community.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

• Hold a relevant senior leadership qualification
• Be either an experienced or aspiring Headteacher candidate
• Ideally have knowledge of Walsall LA procedures
• Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils from a disadvantaged background

Posting Date: 31.03.2020
Closing Date: 08.05.2020 12noon
Interview Date: WC 18.05.2020
Headteacher Salary Potential: L6 – L18
